Fiona and Kit Kat
I have been dating J. for many years now, and we (finally) moved in together last summer. In December of last year we decided we were ready to take the plunge and become parents to a beautiful pet. As with most things we decide, we came up with a plan: we will slowly start visiting the shelters and the SPCA’s until we fall in love with an older cat. Older cats have a lower chance of getting adopted, and we really wanted to give one a loving home. We decided that there was no rush and the goal was to have a pet selected by the end of 2013. As with most things we plan, things didn’t quiet go as we thought. Instead of ONE older cat sometime in the year, we became the loving parents to TWO adorable and silly kittens in the third week of January.
It all started with a simple trip to the SPCA in our local mall. We both made a beeline to the cage that held two adorable kittens (the only kittens in the shelter that day) one of them was trying to sleep, while the other was trying very hard to entice her sister to play. They were 3 month old sisters, they had been orphaned at a very young age and were hand raised by a vet. We could just see how special they were, so of course we asked to play with them. They stuck together and spent most of their energy exploring the playroom instead of playing. I was squealing with delight at every little move they made and I could see the usually logical and calm J. getting excited as well. We then had a decision to make, which kitten would we choose? Could we really separate them? Could we afford to take both of them home? The decision was really simple, yes, yes we could. So without further ado, let me introduce you to our two beautiful girls, Fiona and Kit Kat.
I could write a novel about how much I love each of them, and about all of the quirky and cute things that they do, but I will leave that for another post. For now enjoy the following pictures, and rest assured there are
hundreds thousands of more.
